Declining trend in foreclosures continues in San Antonio

While the actual recovery may not have begun, there is still some good news on the local housing front.  Over the first six months of 2011, foreclosure notices were filed on 4,933 homes in the greater San Antonio area, according to the latest analysis by Irvine, Calif.-based Realty Trac.  That figure marks a 21 percent decline from the number of postings recorded for the first six months of 2010.

All told, out of the 211 metropolitan areas that RealtyTrac covers, 178 — including San Antonio, of course — saw their foreclosure postings go down over the first half of 2011, compared to postings filed for the same six months in 2010.
