Newly renamed Wonderland of the Americas

The Crossroads of San Antonio mall (630,718 sf), located at Loop 410 & IH 10, will be renamed Wonderland of the Americas – marking a return to its roots.  Originally opened in 1961 as Wonderland Shopping Center and remembered by most as Wonderland Mall, the property later underwent a $28 million renovation in 1986 and was renamed Crossroads of San Antonio. 

Last year, the mall was purchased by a group of investors who plan to reinvigorate the  mall.  In addition to rebranding the property, adding new lighting and beefing up security, the new owners plan to transform the ailing mall into a vibrant community center with medical facilities and entertainment programs.   Read Wonderland name is back for local mall (MySA.com, 1-8-2010) and Wonderland Mall back with a new plan (KSAT 12, 1-14-10) or click to watch video of KSAT 12 news report.
